Friends of Colonel MacLeod Society.  

Laptop computers  Wrestling mats.  Picnic tables outside.  Field trips.  Band Instruments. French Resources.  Library books in the School Commons.  Reading sets in the classrooms.  Water bottle refilling station.  Art Supplies.  Sports Equipment. The list goes on and on.   

These are all the things donated or supported by your Friends of Colonel Macleod Society.  Through a variety of fundraising activities our students, parents and those in the community raise money to provide additional opportunities, equipment and supplies that are not provided by Alberta Education nor the Calgary Board of Education.   

This is how your child’s education is enriched.  Only through parental involvement is this possible.  Find out how you can help but contacting us; you may be surprised by how easy it is.   

As the parent(s) of a Colonel MacLeod student you automatically become part of the fundraising society. All parents are welcome to come to our meetings.  

 Our Major Fundraiser 

Every 1.5 to 2 years, our School Society is given the opportunity to hold a casino over a two-day period.  This can result in over $50,000 coming directly to our school for equipment and events.  

This requires many volunteers!  No experience necessary! (honestly!!) 

While the shifts may be during the day or into the wee hours of the morning, it is an enjoyable and sociable experience where you meet other parents and even get a free meal.  When you see the notice requesting volunteers, please sign up.  Your children will benefit.   

What We Do at Society Meetings 

•  Discuss and decide which fundraisers we will hold throughout the year. 
•  Discuss where the funds raised will be allocated. 
•  Receive updates on our accounts by the treasurer. 
•  Receive an overview on what was made from the fundraisers.
